PHILLIPS COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – Bureau of Land Management Lewistown Duty Officer Don Pyrah spoke with New Media Broadcasters on Sunday to provide updates on wildfires on the Hi-Line.
The Mud Creek fire between Hays and the DY Junction is now 100 percent contained at 93.5 acres. Crews were still working on interior smokes within the containment area as of Sunday morning.
The Anchor fire in the Bull-whacker drainage area in Blaine County is 100 percent contained at around four acres. Crews were still working on mop-up duty as of Sunday morning.
A new fire in Fergus County north of Denton is at 50 acres in size. It is burning grass and timber on private land in a coulee intermixed with a wheat field. It was 50 percent contained as of Sunday morning.
No structures are threatened by any of the fires.
