Chinook Wrestling Reflects on State Tournament

The Chinook Sugarbeeters wrestling team sent seven competitors to the All-Class State wrestling tournament in Billings over the weekend and three athletes placed. Beeters coach Ben Stroh was proud to share the list of placers with New Media Broadcasters.

“All in all, the team wrestled phenomenal. They did great (and) came out and put on a show for the fans,” Stroh said. “Grace Buck at 107 (pounds) got fourth and Emma Klingaman at 126 (pounds) got third and Walter Schoen at 160 (pounds) got fourth.”

Stroh also took the time to reflect on the experience in Billings this time around and said his team was able to improve each time they stepped onto the mat on the biggest stage.

“Out of the whole team, I was very happy with the performances,” Stroh said. “Moving through that weekend, that was our whole focus; just get better in every match.”

“It’s just a learning tool rather than competing for win-loss record,” Stroh continued. “It really showed with the team as we grew.”

Congratulations to all the Chinook Sugarbeeters wrestlers on a fantastic 2023-24 season.
