Breaking into the Boise, Idaho radio scene in 1998, Eddie started as an intern on 105.9 Star FM on the Brad & Allie in the Morning radio show. At a time of reel-to-reel editing, plastic cart cassettes, and the internet relatively new, Eddie learned quickly that Taco Bell coupons and coffee by the gallons were a requirement to survive as an intern in radio.
In early 2000, Eddie jumped over to Journal Broadcast Group as a 3rd mic/stunt guy/producer on The Spud Brothers in the Morning on J105, Boise’s top-rated classic rock station and local morning show, alongside the legendary Chris “El Gato” Brewer and outspoken co-host “The Sports Pig” Mike Responts. After a period with The Spud Brothers, it was clear there was a lot to learn about the ins and outs of a successful broadcast. Eddie learned a great deal on how to drive a morning show from his co-hosts, and it was the beginning of a journey that continues today.
After the Spud Brothers was canceled in 2001, after 10+ years in the air, Eddie was called to co-host with Chris Brewer on KTIK 1350AM, the ESPN affiliate in Boise, on a revamped version of The Spud Bros. After about a year, Eddie left the show to relocate due to family reasons to Twin Falls, Idaho.
Then, after several years out of radio, in 2010, Eddie reentered radio for ESPN affiliate KZNO, located in southern Idaho, to build and create the production and imaging of the station for its debut on 102.9FM. The station’s transformation on a production level boasted its quality sound and imaging improvement, as well as improved collaboration with listeners from all aspects associated with a radio station. Unfortunately, the financial side of things could not be resolved in a timely manner, and Eddie departed the station with his head held high.
In 2019, Eddie, aka “Fast Eddie.” launched his own Internet streaming show called The Spudcast, on his self-created Internet station, 109.9 The Spud. With a morning-show feel to it, along with a variety of music, Eddie entertained his listeners around the region and around the world. The Spudcast aired up until Eddie’s opportunity in Havre, MT with New Media Broadcasters presented itself in late June 2021.
Eddie has experience as a voice over actor, morning show/afternoon drive host, production and audio imaging, as well as other skills from his experience in radio over the years. Eddie also performed stand-up comedy for several years, so you can expect his humor to infiltrate the airwaves without notice.
When he’s “not in the building,” Eddie enjoys a variety of activities, from gaming and sports to music and socializing with people. The best way to get to know Eddie is by listening to him on-air and at community events, as he’s an open book with his listeners.
