Fire Reported at Historic Helena Mansion

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – A Monday morning fire caused damage to the historic Lissner Mansion in Helena, according to the Independent Record.

The Helena Fire Department was dispatched to the 300 block of State Street shortly after 10 AM after receiving reports of smoke coming from the mansion’s roof.

Helena Fire Chief Ken Wood told the IR that the fire started in an upstairs bedroom and burned through the attic and into the roof.

All occupants have been accounted for.

A cause of the fire has not been determined.

The mansion was built in the late 1800s and was the home of International Hotel owner Marcus Lissner. It has been listed as a rental property on AirBnB.
