HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Pride Community Clean Up is making a comeback.
The event is set to return on Saturday, May 21st from 8 AM-noon.
Havre resident Kim Cripps has helped put this event on for decades, and says it is important to clean up town on a regular basis.
“Havre’s gonna need to be cleaned up every year. Usually we do it twice a year, just because it’s very windy and garbage cans tip over and animals, what have you. So we invite everybody to come out, grab a bag during that week or stop at the chamber, and take your kids and your family for a walk and pick up trash and show your Havre pride.”
Trash bags will be provided and can be picked up at Town Square. Volunteers should not pick up drugs, needles, or other dangerous materials. The locations of these items should instead be reported to the appropriate authority to handle.
Dumpsters will be located at the Highland Park Zip Trip and the corner of 1st Street and 5th Avenue in downtown.
Participants should bring their own gloves.
Following the clean up, participants are encouraged to return to Town Square for a hot dog, drink, and a chance to win Chamber Bucks.
Trash bags will be available at the Chamber’s office all week for those that want to help get a head start on the cleanup.
This event is sponsored by the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hill County Community Foundation.
