HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission met on Thursday for their weekly business meeting and approved several resolutions.
One of the resolutions was a budget amendment for the Beaver Creek Dam project. This allows the County to receive and use a $125,000 renewable resource grant from DNRC to continue improvements to the Beaver Creek Dam Spillway. Some work has already been done on this project, and work will resume this spring once the weather warms up.
Another resolution approved by the Commission allows for the receipt and use of $1.1 million from the latest round of the CARES Act funding into the County’s general budget.
The other resolution approved allows for the receipt and use of a roughly $270,000 Delivering Local Assistance Grant into the County budget for the ongoing project to upgrade the communication and security in the Detention Center. Susan Brurud of Bear Paw Development has been designated as the Grant Administrator.
Also discussed at the meeting:
- A hiring announcement for Joshua Gray Chagnon as a full time Probationary Deputy Sheriff
- A hiring announcement for Jim Bedwell as the full-time Road and Bridge Supervisor
- The County has applied for $5,900 in annual funding for the DEQ’s motor vehicle recycling and disposal program. This program allows for the County to be able to recycle junk vehicles that are not claimed.
