Born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Josh Margolis has been an avid follower of sports and broadcasting his entire life.
But it was in high school, while reporting on the Minnesota State High School League basketball tournament for his school paper, The Royal Page, where he realized he wanted to turn his love of both sports and broadcasting into a profession. Covering a 4-overtime thriller of a semifinal game that ended with a 60-foot buzzer-beating heave was such a rush that Josh never looked back.
Josh earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Indiana University-Bloomington in August 2018. While in the Hoosier state, Josh spent time broadcasting and reporting on both sports and general news for a variety of outlets. Josh broadcasted dozens of collegiate sporting events both on radio for WIUX and on video streams for Big Ten Network Student U. Josh also hosted several radio programs for WIUX, was a reporting intern for two semesters at WTIU/WFIU, and spent two seasons covering Hoosier basketball for Inside The Hall and The Assembly Call.
In the summer after his sophomore year, Josh spent one month in Kampala, Uganda, as part of a study abroad program through the university reporting on the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country. That experience gave Josh a new understanding of life and helped mold Josh into the reporter and person he is today.
Josh moved to Havre, Montana in April 2019 and has thoroughly enjoyed his time so far in the Treasure State. Josh’s passions include adventuring in nature, ultimate frisbee and meeting new people.
