The Montana State University Northern Men’s Basketball team traveled to Missoula on Sunday to take on the Montana Grizzlies in an exhibition tilt. For much of the game, Northern went toe-to-toe with a Division I opponent that was in the field of the NCAA Tournament a season ago.
A 12-0 run in the early stages of the first half was a highlight as Northern took a 32-30 lead to the locker room at halftime. The Grizzlies slowly built a lead in the second half however and came away with a 64-50 win.
Kavon Bey was one of two players for the Lights that finished in double figures in the game. Bey had 15 points on 6-12 shooting to go along with a team best eight rebounds. Mascio McCadney also had 14 points to go with 5 rebounds.
The Lights will continue their regular season on Friday November 22 against Northwest University in their first game of action at the University of Providence Tournament in Great Falls. Stay tuned to New Media Broadcasters Sports for more on the Lights basketball team.
