Nelson handed sentence: suspended jail time, restitution

(Havre) In August of 2022, two individuals were arrested on charges of vandalism in Chouteau and Blaine counties, those individuals being Jasper Wendland and Devon Nelson. They were both convicted of their crimes.

Nelson received his sentence, requiring him to pay 526,000 dollars in restitution, as well as a six-year sentence for felony mischief which the court deferred, two other, shorter jail penalties.

The court says that if Nelson follows the conditions of his release for the next six years, his felony will be expunged, but if he does not follow the rules, he could face the maximum sentence: ten years.

Jasper Wendland’s sentencing is set for February 13th.
