HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Northern Agricultural Research Center (NARC) held its annual Field Day at Fort Assiniboine on Thursday.
NARC Superintendent Darrin Boss says the event was a success.
“It was outstanding. To have 250 people come out in 35-mile-an-hour winds when it’s brutal out here, is something. To feel that kind of community support, both for the producers and allied people.”
The event began early in the afternoon with tours of the grounds and facilities. One tour focused on grain breeders, the second was about grasshopper and ground squirrel control, and the third delved into issues regarding beef cattle.
In the evening, a banquet was held, and the Havre Ag Chamber Committee presented several awards. Ted Solomon was presented the Outstanding Ag Leader Award, while Barbara Cowan was presented with the Outstanding Ag Advocate Award.
