Northern Wrestling Hosts Annual Alumni Dual Meet

The Montana State University Northern wrestling team held their annual Alumni Dual meet Saturday. The stars of the past did what they always did as Lights wrestlers and were victorious in the dual by a final of tally of 49-9. The three victories for the Lights were turned in by Brock Bushfield, Carl Hansen, and Clayton Currier.

In Evaluating his teams performance, coach Tyson Thevierdge said he liked their aggressiveness and their ability to scramble and score point at the end of a period. He added that there are other aspects of their performance that they will work on once they get back in the room on Monday. Coach Thevierdge went on to say that the Alumni Dual was also a chance to see his team in actual competition and knock some rust off.

Next up for the Northern wrestling team will be their Maroon & Gold inter-squad dual meet on Wednesday October 16. The first match is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Lights will open the 2019-2020 campaign on November 2 at the Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyoming.
