Play Continues Friday In Divisional High School Volleyball

Play continued on Friday in Divisional action across the state of Montana. In the Eastern A Divisional tournament, the Havre Blue Ponies were able to stave off elimination in a pair of victories on Friday over Lewistown, and Laurel. Havre will be back in action against Hardin at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning. The Blue Ponies will need two victories to reach the District final and qualify for the state tournament.

Billings Central advanced to the championship round with a victory over Dawson County. The Championship round is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

In the Northern C Tournament in Cascade the Chinook Sugarbeeters were defeated by Fort Benton in quarter final action. Chinook will now need to win a pair of games in the losers bracket to reach the championship round. Fort Benton advanced to the championship round with a semi-final victory over Belt.

In the losers bracket Chinook will face North Star Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The winner will face the winner of the match between Augusta, and Simms in the losers bracket Saturday. Belt awaits the winner of that match in the 3rd place match.

In Wolf Point at the Northern B Tournament, Choteau advanced to the championship round Friday with a pair of wins over Fairfield, and Shelby. In the losers bracket, Glasgow advanced to the third place match with wins over Malta, and Fairfield. The Scotties will face Shelby with the winner going on to face Choteau in the Championship round.
