Ponies Host Lockwood Friday

(NMB) The Havre Blue Ponies Currently sit at 4 and 2 in the Eastern “A” Football Conference, are coming off last week’s 26-12 victory over Dawson County and preparing for this week’s Homecoming game versus Lockwood. Last week the Ponies had some penalties in the second half that put them is some tough spots on offense and defense. Head Coach Jake Eldridge says that’s been a focus this week. “You know, a couple of them that we did have were some aggressive penalties and some of those you do understand and appreciate those things when they’re kind of being aggressive and playing really hard. But some of those mental mistakes, we definitely have to cut those out.”

The Lockwood Lions visit Blue Pony Stadium this Friday, and although this is their first year playing a Varsity schedule Coach Eldridge says they have some play makers, and it will be important for his kids to stay focused. “They’ve got a lot of talented kids; they’ve got some dynamic play makers outside and they really get after you on defense. so, we’re going to have to execute and be focused and be locked in. There’s going to be a lot of distractions this week with Homecoming, but it’s going to be a great week for the kids, and we should have a lot of fun.”

The Havre versus Lockwood Homecoming game is set to kick off at 7pm Friday night.
