The Chinook High School Football team squared off with the Hays-Lodgepole Thunderbirds on Friday night in Northern ‘C’ eight-man action. The Sugarbeeters were on the board after only 17 seconds in the first quarter on a fifty yard touchdown pass. Twelve seconds later on the Thunderbirds first offensive snap, Chinook returned an interception for a touchdown to take a 12-0 lead. The Beeters went on to score three more times in the first quarter and never looked back in a 72-30 victory over Hays-Lodgepole.
Chinook’s offensive attack accounted for nearly 500 total on the night. Toby Neideregger found the end zone three times and was able to do so via a pass, rush, and reception. Sam Dumas also had a solid performance in the senior’s last appearance in Chinook finishing with 126 yards on the ground. In a backup role, Freshman signal caller Levi Jensen made an impact through the air accounting for 140 yards passing to lead Chinook.
With the victory, the Sugarbeeters improve their record to (2-5) overall.
