(Circle, MT) (NMBI) – The Chinook Sugarbeeters football team faced the Circle Wildcats for their first round playoff matchup.
Starting off, the Wildcats took an early lead 6-0 at just 2 minutes into the first quarter, but missed the 2-point conversion. Chinook came back with a touchdown and successful 2-point conversion at 5:15 left in the first quarter.
The second quarter saw Circle score another touchdown on the first play, again missing a 2-point conversion. The Sugarbeeters came back again at 8:55 in the quarter with a second touchdown and another 2-point conversion. The Wildcats were able to make one more touchdown before the half at 4:26, leaving them in the lead 18-16 over Chinook.
The third quarter saw more back and forth action, with Chinook getting a touchdown at 6:32 and Circle getting one of their own with 50 seconds before the horn sounded.
The fourth quarter saw one more Sugarbeeter touchdown at 7:54, which then was followed by a long drive which resulted in one more Wildcat touchdown with 58 seconds left in the game.
The final play from Chinook ended with 32 seconds on the clock, with Circle intercepting a pass. Circle kneeled down for their last play, sealing the deal at 30-28 for the Wildcats.
The game was hard fought, and Chinook now ends their football playoff run.
