The celebration of over sixty years of rock and pop requires a blend of hits from each decade since the birth of rock n’ roll combined with the very best of today’s music. We call this anthology “The Rock” … Classic Rock and Classic Hits. The extensive playlist includes artists like Rod Stewart, Crissey Hines, Elton John, Phil Collins, Madonna, and Sting. Groups include the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, Huey Lewis and the News, and Dave Mathews Band. Such proven artists and groups are mixed with new talent like Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters, Green Day, Coldplay, Kings of Leon, Phillip Phillips, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, John Mayer, and Pink.

Comprehensive coverage of Class A Havre Blue Pony sports programs includes live coverage of ballgames in conjunction with daily and weekly special reports like “Prep Sports Preview” coaches interview program. We cover all the action from football and basketball to state wrestling championships to give our listeners immediate, updated information. The huge amount of sports activities we broadcast require a well staffed, professional sports department that features play-by-play announcers.

Local, state, regional, and national news with an emphasis on quality and substance. Audio is used to insure accurate reporting … no misquotes or misinterpretations because listeners hear the actual quote and audio from the people and events making the news. Residents of North Central Montana have long recognized the quality and timeliness of our newscasts. Additional recognition of our news at the national, regional and state level comes from the Associated Press, Society for Professional Journalists, the Greater Montana Foundation, and the Radio and Television News Director Association’s prestigious Edward R. Murrow award.

Prompt, accurate, local weather reporting is a monumental commitment to our listeners. Forecasts are updated immediately and often. The responsibility of notifying our listeners immediately when weather threatens a flash flood, tornado warning, severe thunderstorm activity or winter blizzard is serious business. That’s why we were chosen to be the primary radio station in this area for the Emergency Alert System and responsible for keeping our listeners and other broadcast facilities informed of potential or catastrophic conditions.

Community Service

It takes an extraordinary commitment to important local concerns, integrity to strive for a balanced presentation of views, and creativity to focus the public spotlight on the issues that matter. That’s why all radio is not created equal; it takes a talented team to crystallize radio programming that makes a difference. KOJM has been recognized by their peers and honored with prestigious awards like the National Association of Broadcasters’ Crystal Radio Award for excellence in community service.
