Havre, MT – Every year Montana State University-Northern Lights basketball hosts a youth summer league camp. This year camp begins on Monday June 1 and will take place every Monday until July 6.
Lights basketball head coach Shawn Huse told New Media Broadcasters what all is involved in the league and how it can help youth basketball players.
“It’s a little bit of everything, some teaching, some learning, drill work, some skill work and then of course opening it up and playing a little bit more. We’re really encouraging all the stuff that we think makes you a complete basketball player and teammate moving forward.”
The league is for grades four through 12 with age groups being divided into the leagues. Fourth through sixth is youth league, seventh through nineth is the intermediate league and tenth through 12 is the high school league.
The camp charges $140 per participant and has a max of 40 participants per age group. The summer league includes prizes and a reversable jersey that every player can take home at the end of camp.
