(Bozeman) – Kaleb Rock of Havre, Carter Rayburn of Chinook, and Xavier Young of Harlem are among 64 Montana students selected for Montana State University’s 11th class of Hilleman Scholars.The program recognizes incoming freshmen for their academic, leadership, and career potential, specifically targeting students from communities across the state.
Hilleman Scholars receive up to $6,000 in financial support during their first year, followed by $4,000 annually for their remaining years in college. In addition to financial aid, the scholars receive academic tutoring, peer mentorship, and attend a weekly core class together to aid in their transition to higher education.The cohort recently completed a five-week Summer Success Academy living on campus in Bozeman, earning early college credits in calculus and writing.
