HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Although many summer tourist destinations on the Hi-Line have been hard hit by the pandemic, Beaver Creek Park is thriving.
Beaver Creek Park has sold around 1,100 park permits this year, a record that Superintendent Chad Edgar says is correlated with the pandemic.
“All the major events in Havre really didn’t happen this summer and people didn’t have much to do. It created at times some problems out here, because we did have a park that was full. We had a high capacity of campgrounds being used and it just made it problems finding spots. That’s a problem, but it’s a good problem for us. ”
In part as a result of increased park visitation, the Park has begun placing stickers on campers and vehicles as a reminder to follow park rules.
“I have started placing those stickers on campers, and they have a real light adhesive so they are easily removed. It does no damage to their camper or their tent. It’s going to help with a little bit of enforcement I think, and letting people know that we are out there and we do have two rules that need to be followed. People need to understand that they have to attend their campground every 48 hours, and they can’t stay in any one campground for more than 14 days in a 30-day period.”
Earlier this summer, Beaver Creek Park debuted their new website, which allows people to purchase permits online and view the latest information on the park.
