Blue Ponies Softball Ready for Divisionals

The Havre Blue Pony’s Softball Regular season has come to an end. The Blue Ponies entered the weekend with a (14-2) record before splitting the match ups with a (5-3) loss vs Frenchtown and an (8-2) win over Ronan (row-naan) on Friday. Saturday the Blue Ponies defeated Libby (13-5) before falling to Polson (12-9). Havre finished their regular season with a (16-4) record and won the Northeastern Class “A” division and will enter divisionals as the #1 Seed.

Here’s Havre Softball Coach Tony Vigliotti on his thoughts about their successful season:

Good season, we’ll take it. Regular season sixteen and four, our first goal was to win the Northeast A. We went eight and zero in that conference for the second year in a row. Feel good about that and we feel good heading into the divisional tournament.” – Vigliotti

Coach Vigliotti when asked if he had a message for his team heading into the postseason, he quickly answered consistency and handling failure as the most important skills:

For us it’s just trying to be consistent. We know we can play well. We’ve played well really all year. We always talk about managing failure, really that’s what this game is all about. There’s going to be ups and downs every game, every inning. It’s all about how you handle those stress situations, and I think typically whoever handles those better comes out on top.” – Vigliotti

The Blue Ponies play the winner of Park vs Sidney in round one of divisionals, Thursday 11AM in Billings.
