(Fergus County) According to a press release from Fergus County Sheriff Ryan Peterson, at approximately 1:51pm on Sunday June 11th, 2023, an unidentified male was found deceased in the Missouri River several miles down stream from James Kipp Campground. The Fergus County Sheriff’s Office along with Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks Wardens, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and neighboring counties are investigating where the deceased male possibly originated from and his identity. The male was approximately late 50’s or early 60’s in age, short gray stubble beard, wearing cut off shorts and a red and black belt. The investigation is ongoing and there will be extra personnel working up and downstream from James Kipp Campground.
