Box Elder football coach Thomas Dilworth was named the Montana Coaches Association (MCA) “Coach of the Year” in the 6-man football ranks. The honor was announced at the beginning of December.
For his efforts, the former Big Sandy basketball coach took over a program that saw the Bears shatter school records on the gridiron. Box Elder completed an undefeated (11-0) season with athletes who also helped lead the school to a State ‘C’ basketball title in March.
Dilworth coached an offense that put up the record for most points in a 6-man football championship game at 84. He also saw his starting quarterback, Tuarie (too-ARE-ee) Stiffarm-Rosette, break multiple Montana high school football records, including touchdowns in a game with 11, passing yards with 673, and also most passing yards in a single season.
