(NMB) The Investigation continues for a suspected arsonist who set fire to the Masonic Lodge Building in Chinook early Christmas morning. Chinook Police Chief Elmer Zarn told New Media Broadcasters that they have a video from The Sheriff’s office that shows the suspect committing the crime.
“We have a video from the Sheriff’s Office that actually shows the individual coming up and breaking the window and starting the fire but it’s at night and quite a ways away so, there’s no identification available from that.”
It is believed that the suspect was wearing dark clothing and possibly wearing a backpack. Law Enforcement has asked local business owners to review any video they may have that could help the case and they have collected evidence from the crime scene itself.
The Masonic Lodge building sustained a broken window, damaged carpet, window coverings and sustained extensive smoke damage inside the building but it does not appear to have any structural damage at this time.
The Masonic Lodge is offering a $500.00 dollar reward for any credible information leading to the arrest of the person who committed the crime.
Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Brady Pleninger at the Blaine County Sheriff’s office at 406-357-3260
