FORT BENTON, Mont. (NMB) – Christmas is kicking off this weekend in Chouteau County with a series of holiday celebrations. Event Organizer Connie Jenkins says the annual Chouteau County Country Christmas is a chance for the communities of Shonkin, Geraldine, Fort Benton, Loma, Virgelle, and Big Sandy to celebrate Christmas in their own ways.
“In Fort Benton, there’s the Santa North Pole Outlet Mall from 9 to 3. And all children through sixth grade can do and shop for their brothers and sisters, mom and dad, and purchase presents for 25 cents to $3 at the Community Bible Center.”
Santa will be making appearances in Fort Benton, with most of the events happening on Saturday.
“In Big Sandy, you can have breakfast with Santa at the Mint from 8:30 to 10. There’s a big annual craft bazaar at Jerry Martin Memorial Hall from 9 to 4. And also from 11 to 2, you can enjoy a spaghetti dinner at the Senior Center. And then at 5:30 to 6 is their Parade of Lights.”
