County to Take Part in PACE Program

(Havre) – At Last week’s meeting, The Hill County Commission voted to have the county take part in the PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) program. Commission Chairman Jake Strissel explains what target audience this program is for.

“This is for a lot of commercial, agro, and industrial folks that have businesses in Hill County. This is a program that allows people that do own businesses to be able to leverage their taxes to build up their businesses and everything.”

The program provides commercial property owners a way to finance renewable energy and energy efficient investments. PACE program is available for cost effective projects including retrofits, new construction, renewable energy projects and electric vehicle charging stations.

It is administered by the Montana Finance Authority.
