HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The deadline for people in Hill, Liberty and Blaine Counties to apply for Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) funding is quickly approaching.
Applications for this District 4 HRDC program, which provides assistance with utility bills, are due by 5 PM on Thursday, April 30th.
Energy Program Director Teresa Wynia says this supplemental program can be crucial for those in need.
“It’s just to help your dollars stretch further. If we’re here to assist with that bill, that way it allows your income to go towards paying rent, buying groceries, medical, your everyday monthly needs.”
Wynia says HRDC is also offering a separate energy share program that helps people in emergency needs with their utility bill.
“It does go in front of a committee and the committee determines if they can help you or not. That is asked to be paid back. The benefits of repaying that program is to help other households.”
