Havre, MT – After time away from basketball, former Montana girls’ basketball state champion and Gonzaga Bulldog takes the head coaching position at Chinook High School.
Jill Barta, who was born on the hiline and won four straight class B state championships before playing four years at Gonzaga University and stints professionally overseas and in the WNBA, now returns to the hiline as the head coach of the Sugarbeeters girls high school basketball program.
After graduating with an education degree from Gonzaga, Barta to a job at big sandy and eventually left to peruse a career in agriculture. However, her love for the game of basketball never faded and when the opportunity to coach came arose Barta seized it.
