(Havre) While Havre Beneath the Streets has canceled their living history day this year, The Fort Assinniboine Preservation Association has announced that they will still be holding theirs.
Beginning at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 3:00 p.m., tours will be given of Fort Assinniboine aboard the “Black Jack” wagon. Apartment Number 3, where then Lieutenant John Pershing lived while serving at Fort Assinniboine, will be open for visitors to walk through. The Guard House, which served as the fort jail, will also be part of the day’s tours.
A discount on tours will be given for Living History Day only. Tours are conducted by Fort Assinniboine Preservation Association volunteers and will take approximately 45 minutes to an hour in length.
