Glacier National Park’s East Entrance Opens

GLACIER COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Blackfeet Tribal Business Council has voted unanimously to allow the eastern entrance of Glacier National Park to open for the 2021 season.

The east entrance has been closed since last March due to concerns about the potential of tourists spreading COVID-19 on the Blackfeet Reservation.

The decision to reopen the entrance comes after the Reservation moved into phase three of their reopening plan on March 15th.

The Tribal Business Council cited the vaccination of 95 percent of Reservation residents and increased availability of testing as primary reasons for reopening the entrance.

Masks will remain required in public areas of the Reservation for an indefinite period of time.
