(Havre) Havre Fire Department responded to two separate fire incidents yesterday, said Fire Chief Nathan Courtnage.
The first was a grass fire accidentally started by BNSF Maintenance Crews around 3:00pm, it was near Highway 2 West. The fire burned two and a half acres of grass, took three engines and eleven HFD personnel to put out, but there were no injuries or official damages. The HFD was also assisted by BNSF and Patrick Construction.
The second took place around 7:30pm on the 100 block of Cowan Drive, that was smoldering cardboard boxes. Courtnage noted that these boxes were outside, not inside any buildings, and also incurred no damages or property loss.
The second fire is still under investigation.
