Hill County Health Department still gathering info on cistern disinfection.

(Havre) Havre is finally free of the Boil Water Advisory that was in effect for over a month, but those that run their water systems off of cisterns have been left wondering what to do in order to ensure their drinking water is clean.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Will Cochran, Sanitarian in Training with the Hill County Health Department, to ask what their plan is for those with cisterns.

“They will need to disinfect their cistern. We are gathering information for them, and we just need to figure out how to get a hold of all of them and they’ll need to figure the best way they want to go about the disinfection”

Hill County Health Officer Kim Berg says she’s also provided information on this matter to Director of Havre Public Works Trevor Mork. This info, she says, came directly from the state’s Department of Environmental Quality.
