(NMB) The Library of Congress Veterans History Project is an archive that collects, preserves and makes accessible the histories of American veterans from WWI to the present. Veterans History project archives over 125,000 thousand veteran stories, but they rely on volunteers interviewing the veterans in their communities to grow the collection. Andrew Huber will be at Stonechild College on October 28th for a free oral history workshop and says, they’ll teach you everything you need to know to become a VHP field correspondent.
“We will teach you everything you need to know to create and submit a collection to us. Everything from or regulations, our rules, our requirements. How to do oral history. We will teach you everything you need to know, how to use the equipment, you can use the cell phone you probably have in your pocket. When you leave the workshop, you’ll have everything you need to know to start going out and interviewing the veterans in your life.”
