Lights Defensive struggles

Havre, MT – MSU-Northern Lights basketball have started their season 4-3 after a dropping back-to-back game over the weekend.

Through four non-conference games the Lights were giving up 50 points per game defensively and in three conference games that number has skyrocketed by 33 points per game to see the Lights defense allow 83.3 points per game in conference.

Head coach of the Lights Shawn Huse knows that time may be the key to for his defense.

“Having a bunch of new guys and all of them playing important roles I think it’s taking some time. We’re going up against different styles, different teams. Some of it is just game experience. I mean these guys have not played together in enough games to be great defensively just yet.” Huse Said.

The Lights defense will be put to the test next week when the Lights and Skylights host Dickinson State on Saturday December 6, at 7p.m. in Armory Gym.
