HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Arts Council has announced that they have awarded more than $700,000 in CARES Act funding to support organizations and artists.
Several of the recipients are located in north-central Montana.
Local individual awardees include:
- Amanda Dolph of Havre ($2,500)
- Catherine Phillips of Lewistown ($2,000)
- Christa Morgan of Choteau ($2,500)
- Douglas Standing Rock of Box Elder ($2,500)
- John Pepion of Valier ($2,500)
- Kathy Chapman of Choteau ($2,500)
- Kenneth Morsette of Box Elder ($2,500)
- Loren Standing Rock of Box Elder ($2,500)
- Sean Harvey of Glasgow ($2,500)
- Sheryle Bittner of Cut Bank ($2,500)
- Tate Standing Rock of Box Elder ($2,500)
- Terry Standing Rock of Box Elder ($2,500)
- Wylie Gustafson of Conrad ($2,500)
Local organizations that received awards include:
- Fort Peck Fine Arts Council, Inc. ($3,000)
- Montana Actors Theatre of Havre ($3,000)
94% of people working in creative fields have reported a loss of income due to COVID-19, and 71% percent have been burdened with added expenses during the same period.
