Northstars Beat Redbirds In Doubleheader

The Havre Northstars took on the Lewistown Redbirds on Wednesday night in a doubleheader. They were able to win both contests, (7-1) and (3-1), respectfully.

Game one saw Brody Nanini dominate on the pitcher’s mound. The righty went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits while striking out five Redbirds. He even helped himself at the plate, going 2-for-3 with an RBI single.

Connor McKay recorded the lone multi-RBI performance for the Northstars, while Tarek Shipp, Drake Berreth, Ezra Pyle, and Chason Mader drove in the rest of the runs.

After the first game concluded, Havre continued its defensive clinic on the hill. This time, it ws Tanner Delarosa who got the win for the Northstars, going six and two-thirds innings with seven punchouts of Lewistown players.

Delarosa had a chance to go the distance, but Lewistown got a run with one out in the seventh inning via an RBI single. Colter Solomon came in in relief and shut the door for the final two outs of the game.

Jevin Jenkins had the game’s key hit with a 2-run double in the third inning.

Havre will regroup and play the Vauxhill Spurs on the road on Friday. The first game of the doubleheader will begin at 5pm.
