The Havre Northstars got smacked by Lethbridge last Saturday by the final score of (15-2). Since then, the Northstars have won six straight games, which were all doubleheader sweeps. This Saturday saw Havre travel to Fort McLeod to take on the Royals, where the win streak continued with (15-1) and (17-4) mercy-rule victories.
In the first matchup which lasted six innings, seven of the nine Havre hitters recorded RBIs. Drake Berreth led the way with three runs batted in, followed by Brody Nanini, Tyson Brandon, and Lane Kinsella each having two RBIs on the day.
Jevin Jenkins took the baseball for the Northstars and struck out seven Royals. He threw 60 pitches in the entire game; 46 of them were for strikes.
Game two saw Havre put up five runs in the second inning and followed that up with a 9-run fifth inning. Berreth knocking in five runs on two triples. Kinsella went 2-for-2 at the dish with three RBIs. Ezra Pyle had a triple which also plated a run. The game was called after the conclusion of the fifth inning.
The Northtars look to keep the win streak going on Tuesday as they suit up in Conrad against the Tri-County Cardinals. The first pitch of that doubleheader will be at 5pm.
