(Havre) – Northwestern Energy recently donated two thousand dollars to the Havre Fire Department to fund a new handheld multi-gas detector that can be used prior to entering a home to determine if the condition is safe or if crews need to shut off the natural gas supply. The information it provides can help firefighters and other safety personnel determine how best to avoid dangerous and combustible gases.
Northwestern Energy community relations manager Shane Etzwiler said “We appreciate our first responders getting to a home or business quickly when there is a smell of gas. This equipment provides firefighters with important information to help them make safe decisions when they arrive.”
