Pershing Hall to Get Upgrade with some HB 5 Funds

(Havre) – While the Aurora Complex Health and Recreation Center will be the focus of most of the funding from House Bill 5 that MSU Northern will be getting, other projects are also planned.

Chancellor Greg Kegel tells New Media Broadcasters about the plans for a renovation of Pershing Hall.

One of the things that has always kept us from doing things in Pershing is, it’s not accessible. So, as far as ADA accessibility, even for a guy like me, and I’m pretty mobile still, getting up and down those three levels of stairs, that little narrow staircase, it’s just kept us from being able to do things that we’d like to do in that facility. So, we’ve needed an elevator and out of that money we’re going to be able to put in an elevator that will make that building, overnight, a useable building. And it’s a unique building. It’s the oldest building on the campus. We’ve done a lot of work through the years in trying to keep it useable. It’s a solid building but this is just going to make it so that we can use it for the things we need to use it for.“-Kegel
