HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – From 1-9 PM on Saturday, the Great Northern Fair Grounds will play host to a Viking Harvest Farmers Market.
Fair Manager Frank English says numerous vendors will be on hand, and there will also be live music, a bounce house and mini golf, face painting and plenty more.
English says some of the vendors include the MSU Vikings and the Bearpaw Volunteer Fire Department, who will be making ‘Tater Pigs,’ which are stuffed baked potatoes.
“And then I figured why not have some live music with this? So live music came about. And how about a car show? I’m just taking what people asked for and taking their advice. So that’s what I’m doing. Next thing you know we’ve got a bounce house, car show and live music.”
English says he is working on making the Fairgrounds home to more regular community events, and hopes this is just the start of things to come.
“We’re not really making any money off of this at all. Just trying to maintain, basically. If we do make a few bucks, hopefully we can roll it into more entertainment. Whether that’s more music or stock contractors or whatever it might be. Just to get more people up here so we can make use of the place a bit more. I’d like to see more people using this place and get public involvement.”
The event is free to attend.
Artists include Shovels and Shotguns, Hunchback Moon and Derek Hann.
Anyone interested in being a vendor or helping out in another capacity can contact the Fairgrounds by phone at 265-7121 or by email at greatnorthernfair@gmail.com.
