HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A Box Elder man pleaded not guilty on Monday to one count of criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
Court documents say Franklin Troy Caplette was arrested on an active warrant out of Cascade County on December 2nd at Jitterbugs in Box Elder. Caplette’s vehicle smelled of marijuana and a K9 officer alerted on the driver’s side door. The vehicle was searched the next day after a search warrant was issued and officers found methamphetamine.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage from Jitterbugs and determined no one else had gotten in or out of the vehicle from the driver’s side, except Caplette.
On December 3rd, Caplette is accused of leading the Hill County Sheriff’s Office on a pursuit through Havre that ended after the pickup truck Caplette was in crashed into a house on Havre’s northside.
