HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – As the Labor Day weekend comes to a close, Beaver Creek Park wants to remind the public that cattle will begin grazing at the park on September 8th.
Cattle are scheduled to graze at the park through the end of the calendar year.
Park Superintendent Chad Edgar says cattle tend to congregate near the highway at the start of the grazing season.
“When the cattle first come on the park, they like to hit the nice lush bottoms along the creek bank and those areas, which unfortunately is right where our highway goes through the park. So once they eat off best foliage down at the bottom, they tend to start drifting up later towards October.
During this time, the night speed limit at Beaver Creek Park will be 35 miles an hour.
