HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – A man has been sentenced in Hill County District Court for felony assault with a weapon after admitting to strangling a woman with a USB cord.
Cameron James Eagleman, 38, was sentenced on August 31st by Judge Kaydee Snipes-Ruiz to 10 years in the Montana State Prison system, with none suspended.
As pursuant to the plea agreement, the other five felonies in the case were dismissed. This includes the charges of aggravated burglary, strangulation, strangulation of a partner or family member, stalking and aggravated assault.
In the plea agreement, Eagleman admitted that on June 23rd, 2020, he “knowingly used a cord to cause bodily injury,” to the female victim.
This sentence will run consecutively with the five year sentence for felony partner or family member assault that was handed down in July 2020.
