HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana’s unemployment rate decreased to 3.6 percent in July, slightly lower than the 3.7 percent rate in June.
The national unemployment rate for July was 5.4 percent.
Montana’s total employment, which includes payroll, agricultural, and self-employed workers, grew by 2,162 in July. Payroll jobs increased by 3,300, while accommodation and food services had 2,900 jobs added.
The county with the highest unemployment rate for July was Big Horn with 8.3 percent, while McCone and Meagher tied for the lowest unemployment rate, with two percent.
