(UM) A researcher at the University of Montana on June 27th admitted to charges of falsifying documents in a federal investigation, U.S. Attorney Jesse Laslovich said.
The defendant, 43 year old Braxton Alan Norwood, of Marburg, Germany, pleaded guilty to a superseding information charging him with falsification of records in a federal investigation.
Norwood faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and at least three years of supervised release. In a plea agreement, parties agreed that if Norwood paid the full restitution, the indictment would be dismissed.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Kathleen L. DeSoto presided.
