HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Governor Steve Bullock, First Lady Lisa Bullock and Montana No Kid Hungry has announced the awarding of grants to seven Montana communities to help address food access gaps around the state related to the COVID-19 public health emergency.
Box Elder Public Schools will receive $7,700.
Principal Curt Leeds says they plan on using the funds for the distribution of hundreds of meals to children through the summer.
Other organizations awarded grant funds are the Butte School District ($33,500), Farm to School of Park County ($50,000), Wibaux K-12 Schools ($5,000), Anaconda School District ($14,750), Montana Food Bank Network ($15,000), and Huntley Project Schools ($9,400).
Montana No Kid Hungry is a public-private partnership between the Governor’s Office, the Department of Public Health and Human Services, and a national non-profit, Share Out Strength.
