(Havre) – The Havre City Council met on Tuesday Night. Chris Partin was seated as a new councilman for ward 4. Next the council elected their new president, Councilwoman Lindsay Ratliff.
The council approved Mayor Kaercher’s appointments of Ron Brenna to a two-year term on the Havre City-County Airport Board and David Brewer to a two-year term on the Hill County Historic Preservation District.
Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich presented the lifesaving awards to Havre Animal Control Officer Pete Federspiel and citizen Matthew Boucher. On November 15th, 2023, Federspiel and Boucher rescued an unresponsive driver from a burning vehicle.
Havre City Pool Manager Hailey Coursey came before the council with a request to raise admissions fees for the City Pool. The request was sent to the council’s parks and recreation committee.
Havre Public Works Director Trevor Mork reported to the council that the Montana Department of Transportation would like the City of Havre to adopt a food truck ordinance for vendors utilizing first street. This matter was referred to the streets and sidewalks committee.
The next meeting of the Havre City Council will be held on Monday February 5th, 7pm at City Hall.
