City of Ronan Receives Big Grant

(HELENA) – The Montana Department of Commerce announced Thursday, that the City of Ronan will receive $347,630 of grant funding through Commerce’s Community Development Block Grant Economic Development Program. The grant will be used for exterior renovations of the Friends of the Children – Western Montana clubhouse in Ronan.
“CDBG-ED grants stimulate economic development activity by helping Montana’s private sector to create projects that help strengthen our communities and retain jobs for local residents,” said Commerce Director Marta Bertoglio. “This funding will enable a great organization like Friends of the Children – Western Montana to further service the Ronan area.”
CDBG-ED grants can assist businesses by awarding funding to local governments and making fixed-rate financing available to them at low-interest rates. Payment deferrals, lower first-year payments and interest-only payments can also be offered.
