(Missoula) – A Columbia Falls man wiht multiple felony convictions was sentenced on July 20th to 15 years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release for illegally possessing a loaded shotgun.
Christopher Glenn Lakey pleaded guilty in March to prohibited person in possession of a fire arm and ammunition. In sentencing the court applied an enhancement under the Armed Career Criminal Act which provides that a defendant convicted of felon in possession is subject to a mandatory sentence of 15 years imprisonment if the defendant has three prior convictions for a serious drug offense or a violent felony. Presiding over the case was United States District Judge Donald W. Molloy.
