(Havre) – At Thursday’s Hill County Commission meeting. The commissioners selected former commissioners and former City of Havre mayor Doug Kaercher to fill the open District 2 vacancy.
Last Friday September 4th, the commission interviewed former commissioner Mark Peterson, former Hill County Sanitarian and Planner Clay Vincent and Kaercher for the position. The district 2 seat became available when former commissioner Sheri Williams resigned earlier this summer.
Kaercher served as a Hill County Commissioner for ten years from 1997 until 2007 and then served as Mayor of Havre from 2022 until 2025. He will finish Williams term through December 31st, 2028.
