BUTTE, Mont. (NMB) – NBC Montana reports that construction teams in Silver Bow discovered a box of dynamite hidden in a hole under apartments on the 1300 block of Silver Bow Homes.
The discovery was made on August 30th, and the construction crew immediately contacted law enforcement, who confirmed finding the dynamite.
Butte-Silver Bow Sheriff Ed Lester said that the dynamite was old and was not a threat to the public, but they did temporarily evacuate a few dozen apartments in the area as a precaution.
Crews are planning to destroy the dynamite in a safe location.
